The Management Board of the Regional Business Registry Portal, BIFIDEX, representing the business registers from Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia, the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia Herzegovina) and Montenegro, is launching the first set of commercial services today.

An Annex to the Agreement on the Establishment and Management of the SEE Regional Business Registries Portal (“Business and Financial Data Exchange - BIFIDEX”) has been signed in Tirana today by Director of the Serbian Business Registers Agency, Mr. Milan Lučić, who is the President of the BIFIDEX Management Board, and Ms Pranvera Fagu (Behushi), General Director of the National Business Center of the Republic Albania.

The Acting Director of the Serbian Business Registers Agency (SBRA), Bojana Stojmenović, together with her associates, and the Director of the Central Registry of the Republic of North Macedonia (CRRNM), Anita Stamnova, PhD together with her associates, met on 16 December 2025 at the Agency’s business premises in Belgrade, where future steps for continuing cooperation between the two institutions were agreed upon at a working meeting.

By the Rulebook on the content of the Register of Pledges on Movable Property and Rights and documents required for registration (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 71/19) of 04/10/2019, which shall enter into force on 12 October 2019, the by-law has been harmonized with the new Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Pledge of Movable Assets and Rights Registered in the Pledge Registry (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 31/19), which entered into force on 7 May 2019.

By improving the electronic one-stop shop service between the Serbian Business Registers Agency (SBRA) and the Central Registry of Compulsory Social Insurance (CROSO) a shift has been made in the area of starting a business, given that it removes one step in the procedure that a company needs to complete when starting a business.

The Director of the Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Public Legal Records and Related Services (AJPES) - Mojca Kunšek, MSc, and the Director of the Serbian Business Registers Agency (SBRA) - Zvonko Obradović, signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which aims at establishing a framework for cooperation in the implementation of joint activities.The cooperation will include the exchange of available data and information, the provision of solvency-related services and assigning a global Legal Entity Identifier (LEI Code), initiating and participating in the regional and EU projects, as well as the implementation of the Project for the establishment of the Regional business registers portal supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.In addition, the MoU covers cooperation in the provision of registration and analytical services to public and private sector, the promotion of technological platform and modelling of business processes, the exchange of experiences in the registry and institutional management, as well as in improving data security and data processing.

The Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Company Law (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 91/19) – the application of which commenced on 1 April 2020 – introduces two new legal concepts applicable to limited liability companies: a reserved own share and a financial instrument- the right to acquire shares.

In cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Central Register of the Republic of Macedonia (CRRM), the Serbian Business Registers Agency (SBRA) is hosting a two-day workshop on the "Regional Business Registers Portal", which is attended by representatives of the business registration institutions of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Srpska), Croatia, Macedonia, Romania and Slovenia.

Representatives of the Serbian Business Registers Agency, together with representatives of the Ministry of Economy and the Administration for the Prevention of Money Laundering, within the scope of the project "Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing in Serbia", which is supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and administered by the Belgrade Office of the Council of Europe, were on a study visit to the Register of Beneficial Owners of the Republic of Malta, from 5-8 September 2022.

The Serbian Business Registers Agency enjoys a reputation with business entities primarily since the registration procedure is carried out in a fast, efficient and transparent manner and the registered data are published on the Business Entities Register's webpage of the Agency's website: www.apr.gov.rs. This website is the second most visited among state authorities in the public administration of the Republic of Serbia, given that a large number of entrepreneurs and citizens rely on publicly available data registered with the SBRA.

As of today, the information kept by the Agency for Intermediary, IT and Financial Services (APIF), containing the status and financial statements information for about 60,000 registered business entities from Republika Srpska, is published on the SEE Regional Business Registries Portal - BIFIDEX.

As of 16 January 2023, access to the electronic services of the Serbian Business Registers Agency (SBRA) has been enabled through user accounts registered on the Electronic Identification Portal (eID.gov.rs).
