The Serbian Business Registers Agency was this year's recipient of NALED’s Special Recognition Award. The Agency was honored for its improvement of the electronic Register of Bidders and the establishing of an integrated electronic space for the registration of business entities in the SBRA registers.

The Serbian Business Registers Agency has processed the data from the Business Entities Register’s database and concluded that the representation of women in business entities has not yet reached a satisfactory level compared to the representation of men. Although, a moderate positive trend has been recorded year after year.

As of 31 January 2023, when the system for receiving, processing and publicly disclosing financial statements (PIS FI of the Agency) was put into operation, 36,960 obliged entities have fulfilled their obligation to submit their regular annual financial statements (as at 2 March 2023). Moreover, 5,443 of said obliged entities submitted statements of inactivity.

01. March 2023.

In February 2023, the Serbian Business Registers Agency initiated forced liquidation proceedings for 3,956 companies that did not submit their financial statements for 2019 and 2020 before the end of the 2021 business year, which was the deadline for the submission of these statements in accordance with the Law on Accounting. Previously, the Agency published notices to companies that irrevocable grounds for forced liquidation have been acquired. These notices were publicly available for 30 days, in accordance with the Amendments to the Company Law (Official Gazette of the RS, no. 109/2021).
